Mystery Shopping.

The process of mystery shopping involves an individual (known as the mystery shopper) being employed to act as though they are interested in buying something.  Mystery shopping can happen when the mystery shopper uses the Internet or a mystery shop over the phone or actually mystery shopping in a shop.

Normally a mystery shopper would not just shop one location, they could mystery shop a number of different locations or a number of different shops.

For instance a mystery shopper may visit 5 branches of the same bank or super market and compare the service received in each.

Alternatively a mystery shopper may visit 5 totally different bank on the same high street and test the experience.
